Theatre performance in the elderly home
We would like to thank the Lilliput Company of the Szigligeti Theatre for bringing a little live literature and music to the inhabitants of the St. Elizabeth's Elderly Home. The play The hammer of the village, directed by Rita Bartal Kiss, was an unforgettable experience for the elderly.

We donated cat-food to the local shelter
Although Caritas Catolica's mission is primarily to help people in need and human communities, we feel blessed that sometimes we can also help out our four-legged companions. Thanks to the cooperation with the local Food Bank, yesterday we had the opportunity to donate 180 kilograms of dry cat food to the Friends of Cats Oradea Association.

Mr. Szabo has passed away
We are deeply saddened to announce that the founding member of Caritas Catolica Oradea and our esteemed colleague, Mr. DANILA SZABÓ passed away this morning at the age of 71 after a long illness, supported with dignity and optimism.

EU project on Homecare ends
The International Day of Nurses provided the framework for the closing conference of the European Union-funded project for the development of Caritas Catolica's home care service. The event took place on the 12th of May 2022, in the festivity hall of the Roman Catholic Episcopal Palace in Oradea. As part of the three-year project, 15 employees were trained and more than 200 patients were treated free of charge at 6 workpoints in Bihor county, plus the surrounding villages. The interesting thing about the event was that in addition to the invited officials, several homecare patients were present too, who were able to get back on their feet thanks to the medical and social care received from Caritas, and their health improved in the long run.

Caritas Catolica's first independent aid ransport has arrived to Ukraine today
The cargo contained some 295 kg of canned food, 263 kg of pre-cooked pouch bag food, 250 kg of fine flour, as well as blankets, mattresses, bed linen, baby food and infant care products.

Caritas Romania – from emergency aid to Ukrainian refugees to medium- and long-term social services
The city of Cluj hosted the annual general assembly of the Romanian National Caritas Confederation on the 5th and 6th April 2022. The meeting was attended by ex. Aurél Percă, Archbishop and Metropolitan of the Archdiocese of Bucharest, President of the Romanian Bishops' Conference, ex- Claudiu Lucian Pop - Bishop of the Greek Catholic Diocese of Cluj, ex. Jenő Schönberger, Bishop of the Diocese of Satu Mare, chairman of the C.E.R. Judicial and Peace Committee, who is responsible for Caritas' activities. They were joined by the directors of the 10 diocesan Caritas associations operating in 30 counties.

Aid transport sent to Ukraine
We have loaded the trucks on Friday, and the donations have successfully arrived to Ukraine on Saturday. The Caritas Catolica Association has sent over 550 kg of canned food, and further 150 kg of ready-to-eat foiled food and 50 kgs of flour to war-affected zones in Ukraine in collaboration with the Saint Vincent of Paul Society (SSVP). We would like to thank our foreign partners for making this possible. Special thanks to the HAK company from the Netherlands and our partners from Uden for offering high-quality food products.

Actions for the Integration of Migrants in Region 5
Representatives of Caritas Catolica Association have participated at the opening meeting of the workgroup "Actions for the Integration of Migrants in Region 5". The meeting was attended by representatives of public institutions such as the Prefecture, the Immigration Bureau of Bihor County, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, and other authorities, who gave an update on current situation and had a conversation with representatives of local NGO-s about possibilities of further collaboration regarding ucrainian refugees.

The General Assembly of Caritas was held
The annual general assembly of the Caritas Catolica association in Oradea took place on March 24, 2022 in the conference room of the Roman Catholic Episcopal Palace in Oradea. At the event, the board of directors of the aid organization and members of the general assembly listened to last year's economic and activity reports and approved next year's draft by vote.
