The three-month-long campaign ended on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 with the final street hotmeal-distribution of the season, attended by around 100 people in need. A special feature of the event was that in addition to the hot food provided by the Caritas social kitchen, Caritas volunteers also distributed chocolate and sesame seed rolls with the help of the National Food Bank.
Within the framework of the comprehensive aid program, which began on the 6th of December last year, the staff and volunteers of Caritas Catolica Oradea provided firewood aid to 100 registered people in need, supported an additional 100 individuals and families with generous packages of non-perishable food, and distributed a total of 1200 hot lunches over twelve weeks every Wednesday on the city’s main street.
The organizers would like to express their gratitude to the staff of the SOEB Foundation in Boskoop, which supports the program that requires significant financial resources, for their contribution, to the kitchen workers of the Caritas social kitchen, who prepared the dishes for Wednesday's food distributions week after week, and to all the volunteers and staff members who took part in distributing the donations. Last but not least, they would like to express their gratitude to the community of the Food Bank of Oradea, whose donations have been an excellent addition to the hot food distributed on several occasions.
