Special collection in catholic churches

Every year, on the closest Sunday to St. Elizabeth’s feast, a fundraising campaign is organized in the churches of the diocese, the collected donations being offered to help the poor or sick people in the care of Caritas Catolica.

This year the collection will be held on Sunday, November 15, but given the difficult period due to the pandemic, Caritas management has decided that the collected donations would not be centralized, but used in local communities, to help the most vulnerable persons or families.

Anyone wishing to support this charitable purpose can donate to their own church during Sunday mass or during the week in the local parish. Donations can also be made personally at the cashier’s office of Caritas Catolica, weekdays from 9:00 AM to 13:00 PM (Ion Creanga Square, No. 2, Oradea), or by bank transfer to the account RO58BTRL00501205736672XX (for transfers in lei).

Last year, St. Elizabeth's Collectiion was offered to support the Caritas boarding school. Then, in addition to the cathedral and 64 other Roman Catholic parishes, there was also involved a reformed parish in the collection.

This year, we again rely on people with good heart to provide safer conditions, and happier holidays for the persons and families who are sick, or living in poverty.
