As part of this initiative, on Friday, October 11th, we visited the After School-Caritas Tasnad - CCSPC afterschool program run by Asociatia Caritas Catolica Tasnad , which provides afternoon education, meals, and community activities for elementary students from the local and surrounding villages.
Thanks to the Alb Donau charity and the generosity of German donors, around 90 school bags, as well as stationery, colored pencils, notebooks, drawing pads, pencil cases, folders, board games, educational games, and hygiene products, were donated to the children of Tasnad.
Günther Wiedemann and the aid organization he leads have been long-time supporters of our Christmas Shoebox campaign, and last year, they launched the back-to-school support program as a new initiative. Our collaboration is based on personal connections, as they have always emphasized the importance of getting to know the beneficiaries of humanitarian actions directly and thoroughly, as well as understanding the work that Caritas carries out in local communities. The ceremonial donation event last weekend provided an excellent opportunity for such a meeting, where Dr. Tibor Czier, the director, the local leadership, and a group of children participating in the afternoon educational program were present.
