Between 17-21 of March, a three-member delegation from Caritas Catolica visited our longtime friends and Dutch partners who support Eastern Europe. The delegation consisted of pastor József Rajna, General Director, Noémi-Enikő Mészáros, Coordinator of the Economic Department, and Tamás Szombati-Gille, Communications Officer.

On Tuesday, March 11, the 9th F class of the natural sciences program from Ady Endre High School in Oradea visited the Saint Martin Elderly Home in Velența as part of the school’s "Green Week" program. Under the guidance of their class teacher, István Zoltán, the students dedicated their morning to talking with the residents, making pancakes for them, and beautifying the home's garden through volunteer work.

Last week, Caritas Catolica in Oradea concluded its winter relief campaign in the presence of its Dutch supporters. The last street food distribution of the season took place on Wednesday, February 26, on the pedestrian street near the side entrance of the Franciscan Church. Once again, one hundred people in need gathered to receive a free warm meal, prepared by the staff of Caritas' social kitchen.

Our dear friend and partner, Ria Beukenkamp from the Netherlands, received the Oradea local government’s award for the most active volunteer of the year at the gala event organized by the Oradea Social Assistance Directorate (DASO). The event took place on February 27 at 5:00 PM in the impressive building of the Neolog Synagogue in the city center.

Green lights and open barriers – this pleasant New Year’s surprise greeted Mag. Peter Zidar, a permanent Austrian deacon, at the Bors border crossing. This morning, he brought the first aid shipment of the year to the Caritas soup kitchen by minibus.

Between October 21-24, we hosted this year's last foreign student group from the Austrian HTL Mödling construction school.

The delegation of Caritas Catolica from Oradea was visiting its Austrian partner organizations between 5-7 november, 2024.

Once again, the flames of solidarity shone in Oradea’s main square, where the Greek Catholic Caritas Eparhial and Roman Catholic Caritas Catolica jointly organized this year’s One Million Stars event on Thursday, October 24. The two Catholic aid organizations in Oradea host this traditional visibility event annually at an iconic public space, and all proceeds are donated to charitable causes.

As a continuation of the highly successful back-to-school aid program launched last year, our German sponsor, Günther Wiedemann, and the team from the Alb Donau Rumänienhilfe charity organization, have decided to organize another collection this year to support disadvantaged students in Romania.
