On November 27th, Wednesday, we distributed handmade children's clothes knitted by members of a Dutch retirees' club at the Kraszna daycare in Sălaj County. Over 130 children from the kindergarten, both Hungarian and Romanian classes, received the gifts brought by representatives of the SOEB foundation. Special thanks to Father Tibor Nagy, school director Andrelik István, teacher Erzsébet Pap and Mayor István Kovács for their generous hospitality. Following the event, the Caritas Catolica and SOEB delegation also visited the local Reformed Church and the village museum.
On Thursday, November 28th, we gifted handmade Dutch children's clothes to about 80 preschoolers from Salacea and Otomani. Mayor Béla Horváth guided us to the new kindergarten, built in the courtyard of the Roman Catholic parish church. In the beautifully designed building, we visited each group. The youngest children received blankets—which they immediately started using—while older boys got hand-knitted sweaters, scarves, and hats. The girls were delighted with ponchos and dolls dressed in knitted outfits, to everyone’s great joy. The gifts, specially made for this occasion by members of a Dutch knitting club, were handed over by SOEB foundation representatives Bert and Francien van Bruggen, along with Ria and Piet Beukenkamp.
